‘Wild Rose Thorns’ - Written/Composed By Alexander Shenton - 2015/11/15 Tax man he came along and said what’s half of yours is all of mine Oh and by the way we gotta bump back your property lines My family got a hundred years of blood worked down in this soil Grandma broke horses and grandpa drove cattle and drilled for oil That’s the way it was. These are the days your know, we’ll talk about when we’re old The government they came and called all the pastures parks Didn’t your momma tell you if it ain’t broke don’t make a fix A group of city people sitting in a city room telling country folk how to live The best thing about bad things is they always come in threes Death, taxes, and lies our government guarantees The best thing about bad things is they always come in threes Wild rose country folk, gonna weather this storm in damn good company Laws ain’t gonna do much good if we’re still short on that common sense Just cause you got a neighbour don’t mean he know how to go ahead and fix his fence Some rules might help out but bureaucracy is built to steal I don’t think a corporate driven food structure is gonna give you mercy on the price of your meals! The best thing about bad things is they always come in threes Death, taxes, and lies our government guarantees The best thing about bad things is they always come in threes Wild rose country folk, gonna weather this storm in damn good company The best thing about bad things is they always come in threes Death, taxes, and lies our government guarantees The best thing about bad things is they always come in threes Wild rose country folk, gonna weather this storm in damn good company

Coach 02:59
‘Coach’ - Written/Composed By Alexander Shenton – 2016/03/17 Wish I had sick handles like a major baller Instead I got bad knees work a blue collar I enjoy doing what I do to make a dollar So I don’t mind donating my time to these young scholars I try to emphasize that they are the architects Of every single situation that they ever wrecked Find the lessons don’t trip keep your temper checked Keep calm, play on, and you won’t get decked Imagine all the powers you have yet to find Practice anything that you can think in your mind Fly a kite, ride a bike, shoot your threes blind Do what you gotta do, but be kind So you wanna be a major baller? Got some advice for you son. Put in work and pay those dues. Spend your nights, make your dreams come true. So you wanna be an all star player? Gonna hafta put your back into it. Put in work and pay those dues. Spend your nights make your dreams come true. Spent so many days bouncin’ balls and chasing dreams Taking shots from half, imagine how the crowd screams. Practiced till I puked just to make the fucking team Not a motion wasted, face it, I’m as magic as I seem. Theres something special about every single game night Walk on the court, feels like I’m shining light Hearts full, chin up, eyes are so bright Ref’s go whistles blow, we’re about to take flight. Now and then I wish I could go back in time Tell my younger self a little reason for my rhyme But the confidence of youth is so sublime I’d probably ignore what’s in store and focus on the grind. So you wanna be a major baller? Got some advice for you son. Put in work and pay those dues. Spend your nights, make your dreams come true. So you wanna be an all star player? Gonna hafta put your back into it. Put in work and pay those dues. Spend your nights make your dreams come true. So you wanna be a major baller? Got some advice for you son. Put in work and pay those dues. Spend your nights, make your dreams come true. So you wanna be an all star player? Gonna hafta put your back into it. Put in work and pay those dues. Spend your nights make your dreams come true.

‘The Bush’ - Written/Composed By Alexander Shenton & Dylan Evans– 2016/04/20 Wanna go out and about upon a journey bro? I’ll take you down to the swamp where nobody goes Learned my life lessons here; they came so hard and fast Cougars bears tried to test me man but I passed… With flying colours, earned my stripes and ruffled up some feathers Kept myself alive with nature’s bounty and some blessed weather. Learned to be humble, learned to be kind, learned my place in this line Came back with a new respect for this thing we call mankind That’s what it’s like to live in harmony I get down, like the birds and bees That’s what it’s like to live in harmony Just a mammal in a natural hierarchy Ya I been living in bushes and shrubs Still going to shows, made a nest out of ticket stubs Only human though, not a bird or a bug I’ll be cuttin’ a rug in my bunny hug Straight ranching I’m herding the words Ranging from strange to really absurd I’m searching for the beat with the baddest bounce I use a short word, or one that’s hard to prounounce What? That’s what it’s like to live in harmony I get down, like the birds and bees That’s what it’s like to live in harmony Just a mammal in a natural hierarchy That’s what it’s like to live in harmony I get down, like the birds and bees That’s what it’s like to live in harmony Just a mammal in a natural hierarchy

‘The River’ - Written/Composed By Alexander Shenton & Aspen Beveridge– 2016/05/15 A stone that intends to roll is gonna find a way I hate to admit to this but my feet can’t stand staying still I can’t even count the times that I’ve chased my heart and left it all behind I’m sorry if you had it in mind that I might change, aw hell… Honey I’m the rock the river flows around I hope you weren’t waiting for a call I’ve been so lost in these dreams of mine It seemed like no time at all. It seemed like no time at all. I ask myself just one more time What’s it gonna take, what do I need I’ve been scratching and clawing at my brain I’m so lost. Honey I’m the rock the river flows around I hope you weren’t waiting for a call I’ve been so lost in these dreams of mine It seemed like no time at all. It seemed like no time at all. Honey I’m the rock the river flows around I hope you weren’t waiting for a call I’ve been so lost in these dreams of mine It seemed like no time at all. It seemed like no time at all.

‘The Wind Blows’ - Written/Composed By Alexander Shenton & John Dale– 2016/01/17 What’s that rustling in the pines? It’s kicking up dust… just taking it’s time. There’s a breeze coming in from the east The little ole breeze she’s a pickin’ up steam Now a gale force wind is coming my way I run for the cellar door, that’s when I hear a voice call out my name. I’m here to help you brother Don’t you live in fear of me. I’m here to help you brother, I am the wind get of your knees I stand up tall don’t look away The trees around me begin to sway Branches fall, branches crack Blocks the way back home no turning back Now I’m standing in the eye I feel a lump in my throat, I’m far to young man I don’t wanna die I’m here to help you brother Don’t you live in fear of me. I’m here to help you brother, I am the wind get of your knees Now the sun begins to rise The rooster crows I wipe the sleep from my eyes I direct my gaze up to the sky The storms gone it’s passed me by And I’ll keep just a rambling on I’ll let the wind flow through… I guess it meant no trouble after all. I’m here to help you brother Don’t you live in fear of me. I’m here to help you brother, I am the wind get of your knees I’m here to help you brother Don’t you live in fear of me. I’m here to help you brother, I am the wind get of your knees

Chains 03:19
'Chains' - Written by Alexander Shenton - 2015/04/03 Baby wore her chains, tied into her veins Managed to smile and lie, said “It ain't so bad, but I need you to listen, cause I need you to know I need your forgiveness because I want to let go.” In that moment I lived a thousand lives Saw the clouds of pain painted in her eyes Baby don't despair, you already know you're strong Keep on fighting girl, don't worry it won't be long Baby's gonna break her chains, she said “We're all born to die anyways” Baby's gonna break her chains. She always gets her way I've never been so scared to say goodnight I never left her side, I held her hand so tight Woke up to an empty bed, filled with my hollow stare Was everything left unsaid? Did she know how much I cared? Baby, baby please don't go. You know I need you so. I know that it hurts so bad… But you're all I have. Baby's gonna break her chains, she said, “We're all born to die anyways” Baby's gonna break her chains She always gets her way.

Cece 03:46
‘Cece’ - Written/Composed By Alexander Shenton – 2016/02/22 Son you’ve been living so godamn fast… but you weren’t raised that way You’re gonna go out, out in the world… but please remember where you’re from A picture perfect poet looking for some pills to pop I’ve done things I ain’t proud of thank god I stopped Hellbound driving drunk on the highway Carpe diem baby, gonna live it my way It’s all crystal clear looking in the rearview How many friends have to die to prove it’s true? Music heals, scars fade, but you don’t come back You only get one shot man, that’s a fact Appreciate what you got, when you got it good Grandpa told me and it played out like he said it would I shoulda listened man, instead of living godless Build it right once instead of trying to fix a fucking mess. I know what’s been killing me lately, old wounds but they hurt like crazy I’d give up everything I had, for one more day with my granddad. I know what’s been killing me lately, old wounds but they hurt like crazy I’d give up everything I had, for one more day with my granddad. I moved back to the valley now, I think he’s proud Gives me hope to think he’s upstairs smiling down Every day I wake up wishing he was there Crack a joke and say, “Son cut your hippy hair.” Live without regret… fuck that’s a huge lie. I never came home I never thought he could die Who woulda known that hand I dealt would be the last Every game of crib we played locked in the past The final words we spoke were all around pretty rough Deep down he loved me, god, but he made me tough. I thank my stars everyday for I got I belong here Cece – I never forgot. I know what’s been killing me lately, old wounds but they hurt like crazy I’d give up everything I had, for one more day with my granddad. I know what’s been killing me lately, old wounds but they hurt like crazy I’d give up everything I had, for one more day with my granddad. I know what’s been killing me lately, old wounds but they hurt like crazy I must have been out of my mind, cause I heard his words… But paid him no mind. I know what’s been killing me lately, old wounds but they hurt like crazy I’d give up everything I had, for one more day with my granddad.

‘Itherapy’ - Written/Composed By Alexander Shenton – 2015/11/21 I never saw the shine with my own eyes You can make a difference brother don’t act surprised You’re the brightest star, the brightest of us all But remember man how hard a shooting star falls Wanna change the world? Go ahead and do it son I’ll even do your dirty work cause you’re the chosen one Your knowledge empowers the words that you speak But you can’t lead a army full of dead greeks Don’t be a deaf god, trying to lead the blind I did everything I could the re-arrange your mind Get those ideas out of your head; Get em out boy before you wind up dead. Nothing really lasts forever baby, Death is just a pale horse we all must ride Nothing really lasts forever baby, How can you live with wasting your time You’re more of a brother to me than you’ll ever know I’m so proud of how you’ve grown Without you by my side I forge on Took a winding road and found myself gone. Those times were tough but my heart feels light Don’t forget me man and remember to write A rancher wielding words from the hills of Pincher Creek I miss the poetry and the wisdom in the words that we’d speak. Nothing really lasts forever baby, Death is just a pale horse we all must ride Nothing really lasts forever baby, How can you live with wasting your time Death is just a pale horse we all ride.
